Jishui County

Jishui County is a county located on the Gan River Ji'an city, Jiangxi province, .

It has an area of 2531.73 km? and a population of 480,000.

It is located central of Jiangxi ,196 km south of Nanchang , 23 km north from Ji'an. The local speech is a variety of Gan Chinese.

The government of Jishui is located in Wenfeng town .

History


Jishui has 1,300 years of history. It became a county during the Sui dynasty.
There are many famous people from here, such asOuyang Xiu(欧阳修),Yang Wanli(杨万里) ,Xie Jin , Luo Hongxian . The first Chinese map is made by Luo Hongxian who is from Jishui Futian .

Economy


Jiahui is a regional hub for agricultural production in Jiangxi Province. Products such as rice and oranges are economic staples. Jishui is a center for the production of traditional gloves, for which it ranks first in Jiangxi province in export value. The GDP of Jishui county in 2005 was 370 million Yuan.

Jishui has extensive railway infrastructure which connects to many important cities in other provinces, including Beijing, Wuhan, Shenzhen, Shangqiu and Fuyang The Beijing-Jiulong Railway was built in 1997. Jishui Railway station is operated by Nanchang Bureau of Railways.

Jinggangshan Airport(井冈山机场), built in 2004, is the main airport. It is situated in Taihe County, 50 kilometres north of the CDB. The airport is connected to major mainland cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen.

Road


The road transport infrastructure in Jishui is extensive. There are national highways that goes through Jishui. It is the No. 105 National roads No. 105 from Beijing to Zhuhai. Ganyue Expressway entrance is 18 km from the CDB.

Jishui is situated on the Gan River, Jishui Port is on the Gan River.

Hukou County

Hukou County is a county under Jiujiang City in Jiangxi Province, China. The total area is 669.33 square kilometre, and the population is 285,242 as of 2007.

Hengfeng County

Hengfeng County is a small county under the administration of Shangrao city,Jiangxi
Province, P.R.China. It is located in the middle part of Shangrao city, about 30 km from Shangrao Xinzhou District which is the locality of the municipality.


History



The Hengfeng county is set up in Year Jiajing 39 with the name Xin'an, whose initial highest administrator is Chen Qingyun(陈庆云)who took his duty in the same year.

In the Year Mingguo 3,Hengfeng changed its name from Xin'an to current name Hengfeng to eliminate the ambiguity since a county in Guangxi Province has the same name.

Geography


The Hengfeng county's east-west distance is 28.3 km, and the north-south is 50.3 km. The total area is 655.24 square km by aircraft measure.The highest mountain is Mill-Dish Mountain with its peak altitude 1366.6 meters. Xinjiang River,the main river across Shangrao city, lies in the county for 9.82 metres. Cengang River runs across the county. The county's intensity of river grid is 0.2 km/square km.

In the last century,the main celebrities are Fang Zhimin and Shao Shiping(邵式平).

Fang Zhimin


Fang, born 1900 in Yiyang County,Jiangxi Province,led revolution in Jiangxi with Communism faith and Marxism theory, who had the same prestige with Mao Zedong at that time. Fang and Shao Shiping had successfully launched Yiyang-Hengfeng Uprising and built The Northeast Jiangxi Revolution Base. But unfortunately he was captured by the Kuomintang troops in Huaiyu Mountain, Yushan County, Jiangxi in his adult age in 1935 and killed in Nanchang in the same year. ''Lovely China'' he wrote in prison is his masterpiece and influnced a number of revolutionaries.

Shao Shiping


Shao, born too in Yiyang County, was also reputed for the revolution. After the foundation of People's Republic of China in 1949, he was the initial province stadholder of Jiangxi. Fang and Shao had successfully launched Yiyang-Hengfeng Uprising and built The Northeast Jiangxi Revolution Base.




Population


Until 2005,the population is about 200,000, most of which work in the primary industry.




Transportation


The transportation is very convenient. No.320 National Road, No.311 Expressway , Zhejiang-Jiangxi Railway, Hengnan Railway make the county 2 hours to Nanchang city, 3 to Hanzhou city, 4 to Shanghai city.




Economy


Currently the local government concentrates on developing economy, mainly by building industry garden and offering good policies. Xin'an Industry Garden lies in the western part which is gradually expanding west to the boundary of its nearby county -Yiyang County.

Sights


Cen Mountain lies in the north of Cenyang Town,which is the place of administration centre. In the mountain there are Cen Mountain Cave Temple and Tiantai Temple, both of which are buddhistic temples. There is a beautiful legend about Cen Mountain Cave. The daughter of the highest administrator of the county got blind caused by illness, and the administrator sought for all kinds of treatments to heal her but none had made sense. The local residents recommended him to use the fountain from the Cen Mountain Cave to wash her eyes. The miracle happened. The girl was able to see the world clearly again. The adiministrator was so very happy that he decided to build a temple to protect and commemorate the fountain, that is Cen Mountain Cave Temple.

Resort


Geyuan Town once was the capital of The Northeast Jiangxi Revolution Base where quite a lot of relics remain, such as Red Square, Hospital, Post Office, The schoole of Workers Peasants & Warriors, and so on.

Fengcheng, Jiangxi

Fengcheng is a county-level city of China's Jiangxi province. The literal translation of the name is "Abundance City", due to its importance as a major commercial hub for agricultural products. It is located in northern Yichun, next to Nanchang. There are 26 towns and 7 sub-districts. Its area is 2845 square kilometers and its population is more than 1,300,000. The 2005 GDP was more than 91 billion RMB.

In 210 AD, during the Eastern Han Dynasty, it was founded as 剑邑 county.

Duchang County

Duchang County is a county under Jiujiang City in Jiangxi Province, China. The total area is square kilometre, and the population is as of 200?.

De'an County

De'an County is a county under Jiujiang City in Jiangxi Province, China. The total area is 939.40 square kilometre, and the population is 161,000 as of 2003.

Yushan County

Yushan is a in the northeast of Jiangxi province, China. The county is Jiangxi's gateway to bordering Zhejiang province. It covers 1,731 km? and the population now reaches 560,000.

The climate is temperate there with abundant rainfall in the monsoon season, and has clearly differentiated summers and winters.

Economy


Over the last fifty years, the county has harnessed its eight major rivers for power. It has three large hydropower stations with installed capacity of about 1.2 megawatts.

The county is relatively a lagger in economic development. But it boasts affluent mining resources, like flagstones and limestones.

Transportation


Yushan is a stop on the Zhe-Gan Railway, leading from Shanghai, Hangzhou to Nanchang and further south to Guangzhou and Hong Kong. At the end of 2002, the county was also incorporated into the national network of roads with the construction of a highway to Shanghai. Its closest airport is one in Quzhou, which flies to various domestic destinations.

Miscellaneous


Yushan is famous nationwide for its distinctive success in school education, which is quintessential by the Yushan No.1 Middle School. Founded in 1939, the school is cradle of about 1,000 graduates beyond the master degree. It is applying for one of China's top 1,000 elementary and middle schools.
